It all opens up again for the Bow Valley snowboarding community today! Lake Louise and Norquay are kicking it off with their opening day which promises to be pretty awesome. Sunshine will follow in weeks to come with their opener as well. Being such an occasion we put together this short video of our best moments from last season to give you an idea of what is to come during this winter, and get you excited for the months ahead! The next opener that followed Lake Louise for us this season was Norquay…. and although they had next to no snow at all, we still had a great time shredding a strip of man made.
This is a video that we entered in a local “Short Video” contest in Banff last Thursday. We had a ton of fun making it and as much fun getting wasted the night it got played. The whole idea behind it was our perfect day shredding at the mountain with our buds. This is pretty much how we see most days in our area.. couple slashes, a few bonks and ruts, and some rad park laps. We ended up with a 2nd place finish for the event…. they rewarded us with $100 dollars which went straight back to the bar in the form of shots and beer. Thanks to every one that helped out and those who held the event. We will post some of the other contestants videos in the days that follow.
Some of the crew headed to the Kanasaskis Valley looking to ride some park, and they found some at Nakiska. You need to buy a park pass there, its $5 but it is also good as a food voucher. They also dont have any jumps at Nakiska, just boxs and rails, but the park is still super fun!
Lake Louise has yet again opened a bunch of features in their new park. Some fun ones in there, but speed is definitely going to be an issue in some areas. Be sure to pick your line and pin er’ or you may be skipping a few features to get speed for another. All in all it is still one real fun line.
Mondays…. The hills are empty, everybody goes boardin’, the bars are fun again…. oh and of corse.. We get to watch someone else eat shit. Vincent Lortie Ladies and Gentlemen..
Well today is the day a lot of us have been waiting for! Our Photo Showdown Party is tonight at the Dancing Sasquatch. We are set to see 6 slideshows from 6 talented photographers…. man we are excited to get wasted and appreciate all the hard work that them and their riders put in this past week. If you are in the area get here, get yourself to the bar, and get yourself a beer! Here is one more photo update to get you guys stoked.. it comes from local photographer Tucky Tuckerman.
